The Team

At the core of Ask Blinds are founders Sanjaya and Ann Gunarathne, a driven duo with over two decades of experience in blinds, interiors, and commercial fit-outs.

Their journey began in Sri Lanka in 2004 with Image Blinds, specialising in blind installations for newly built and refurbished office spaces. As demand grew, they expanded into full interior design services and commercial furniture supply. Their expertise soon attracted top-tier clients, including HSBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and The Hilton Group, amongst other commercial developers.

In 2014, Sanjaya and Ann brought their vision to Australia, establishing Ask Blinds to offer the same quality and personalised service to residential and commercial clients. Since then, they’ve built lasting relationships across the industry, known for their attention to detail, practical design solutions, and customer-first approach.

Strong supplier partnerships allow them to deliver high-quality products with fast turnaround times — a combination that keeps clients coming back.

With a deep understanding of how window furnishings can transform a space, Sanjaya and Ann continue to lead with passion and purpose, creating stylish, functional environments that reflect each client’s unique needs. 

Currently the business is being predominantly being run by their son Kaveesha Gunarathne
