How much do made-to-measure blinds cost?

Price depends on the type of blind, the fabric and the size of your windows. Because every blind is made to measure, the quickest way to an exact price is a free home visit, where we measure up and give you a written quote with no obligation.

Is the home measure and quote really free?

Yes. We come to you, bring samples, measure every window and give you a written quote. There is no charge and no obligation to buy.

How long does it take from measuring to fitting?

Most jobs are fitted within 2 weeks of your order. Shutters and some specialist products take longer. We will give you an expected date when you order.

Do you measure and fit?

Yes. We measure, supply and fit everything, so you do not need to worry about getting sizes right. If anything we measured does not fit, we put it right.

Are your blinds child safe?

Yes. All our blinds meet the Australian mandatory safety standard for corded window coverings, and we offer cordless, chain-tensioned and motorised options for complete peace of mind.

What areas do you cover?

We cover Melbourne and Victoria and surrounding suburbs. If you are not sure we cover you, call us or send your postcode in the quote form.

What is the best blind for a bedroom?

For bedrooms, blockout roller blinds, blackout-lined Roman blinds or shutters work best. For the darkest result, choose a blind with a cassette and side channels, or pair a blind with blackout curtains.

What is the best blind for a kitchen or bathroom?

Choose moisture-resistant options such as waterproof roller blinds, faux wood or aluminium Venetian blinds, or waterproof shutters. They wipe clean and will not warp in steam.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes. Our blinds come with a 10 year guarantee on products and workmanship.

Do you do commercial blinds for offices and hotels?

Yes. Our founder Sanjaya Gunarathne has more than 25 years of experience fitting window furnishings in commercial spaces, including hotels and offices, as well as homes of every size.

Can you help with blinds for a new home build?

Yes. We regularly advise new home builders on the right blinds and curtains for each room, and can measure and quote as soon as your windows are in.

Do you repair blinds?

Yes. We repair blinds across Melbourne, including broken chains, cords and springs, re-stringing and worn or broken parts. If a repair is not worth it, we will tell you honestly and quote a replacement. See our blind repairs page or call us with a photo.

Can I see samples before I buy?

Yes. We bring a wide range of fabric and material samples to your home so you can see colours in your own light.

Are blockout roller blinds good for blocking light?

Yes. A blockout (blackout) roller blind blocks almost all light through the fabric. For the darkest room, add a cassette and side channels so light cannot creep round the edges.

Can roller blinds go in a bathroom?

Yes. We use PVC-coated, moisture-resistant fabrics that will not warp or grow mould and can be wiped clean.

Do Roman blinds keep heat in?

Yes. With a thermal or interlined lining, Roman blinds add a layer of insulation at the window that helps keep heat in during winter.

Can I supply my own fabric for a Roman blind?

Often, yes. Ask us when you book your free home visit and we will check the fabric is suitable.

Are wooden Venetian blinds OK in a bathroom?

We recommend faux wood or aluminium for bathrooms because real wood can warp in steam. Faux wood looks almost identical and wipes clean.

Are vertical blinds out of date?

Not at all. Modern fabrics, textures and slim headrails make vertical blinds a smart, practical choice for wide glass, and they remain one of the best value options.

Are outdoor blinds worth it in Melbourne?

Yes. Melbourne weather changes quickly, and outdoor blinds let you keep using your alfresco or balcony through wind, rain and summer sun.

What are zip track blinds?

Zip track blinds are outdoor blinds whose fabric edges are zipped into side channels, so the blind stays taut, seals out insects and holds up in strong wind. We supply and fit zip track systems in clear PVC, mesh and canvas, with crank, spring or motorised operation.

Can outdoor blinds stay down in the wind?

Zip track outdoor blinds lock into side channels so they stay taut and quiet in strong wind. We will recommend the right system for how exposed your area is.

Are shutters worth the money?

For many homes, yes. Shutters last for many years, help with insulation and privacy, and are often seen as adding appeal when selling.

How much do plantation shutters cost in Melbourne?

Plantation shutter prices depend on the material (hardwood, MDF or waterproof ABS), the size and number of windows, and the style, such as full height or tier on tier. Because every set is made to measure, we give you an exact written price at a free home visit, with no obligation.

How long do shutters take?

Shutters are made to order. We will give you an expected fitting date when we confirm your quote.

Do you fit curtain poles and tracks?

Yes. We supply and fit poles and tracks, including bay tracks and motorised tracks, as part of your order.

Do motorised blinds need an electrician?

Not usually. Most of our motorised blinds use rechargeable batteries that last for months, so no wiring is needed. Mains-powered options are available too.
